Meet Liz Dubovsky
Choosing to pursue therapy is a brave step. My goal for you as a client is to help you transcend life’s problems, heal old wounds, and transform the ways in which you interact with the world and other people. Effective therapy doesn’t solve your problems; it helps you build the inner strength and resources to address any problem that presents itself.
Are you wanting to improve your relationships at home and at work? Are you struggling with overwhelming sadness? Have others expressed concern to you about your substance use? Are you curious about sobriety or wanting to find your own path to recovery? Are you stressed out over a difficult boss? Have you experienced a trauma that is negatively impacting your life? Are you experiencing anxiety due to sleepless nights with your children? I can help.
Having worked for more than a decade in psychiatric research, and changing careers to become a therapist, I have helped clients with a multitude of problems. Most of my clinical experience has been working with those addressing addictions, which has given me an incredible ability to treat the underlying issues that are really contributing to that behavior. So, even if you aren’t dealing with substance use concerns, I also help adults dealing with depression, worry, anxiety, domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse, grief, relationship problems, codependency, problems at work, difficulty raising your children, anger and stress management, women’s issues, LGBTQ concerns, PTSD, and life adjustment problems. I have also worked with a wide variety of people including medical professionals, teachers, business owners, and new parents.
Together, we can come up with a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs and gets you real results. One of my “superpowers” is providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to gain insight into the problems that are affecting you. Here are the specialized therapies I use regularly in that space:
EMDR
DBT
Motivational Interviewing
Mindfulness based stress reduction
Insight-oriented psychotherapy
Supportive psychotherapy
Group therapy
Flexibility and adaptability are essential to any therapeutic endeavor. My ability to switch approaches depending on the client’s needs allows me to provide complete treatment for many of the challenges we all face. When you work with me, you can expect my full attention to increasing your resilience and adaptability. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky and Ohio and offer in person and online sessions.
